His 40 year Real Estate Brokerage career started with his family’s Real Estate and Auction business started by his father in 1959. Mr. Dutton has been involved in the sale of over 5,000 properties including Island and Waterfront, Residential, Commercial, Farm and Ranch Land. His experience includes the sale of 13 Island properties located in lake Erie, Detroit River, Canada and the Bahamas including Rattlesnake Island in Lake Erie and Middle Island, Canada. Mr. Dutton is recognized as a land specialist selling 10,000’s of acres of Land and Mineral Rights. Special note is a series of Land sales for the Coal, Oil- Gas and Timber Industries that resulted in the sale of 60,000 acres which is one of the largest dispositions of Corporate Land Portfolios in Ohio, Pa., West Virginia and New York.
Mr. Dutton received NAA’s Highest National Marketing Award for the sale of Rattlesnake Island, Lake Erie and the “2000 Auction of the Year” award for the Sale of Middle Island, Canada. His career includes a 25 year association with Sheldon Good & Company Inc., formerly headquartered in Chicago Ill. and now in New York where he was involved in many high profile Real Estate marketing programs. They included 800 properties in New York and Connecticut for New York based Marine Midland, 86 units in Trump Towers in Lake Worth, Florida, $100 million of Real Estate Assets for the Government RTC. in St. Louis, Missouri and a $250 million National portfolio of Manufactured Home Assets from Denver, Colorado. Mr. Dutton has been a speaker on the topic of Real Estate for many years and has presented his Certified Continuing Education program for Real Estate Auctions to thousands of Realtors. He has also appeared as a guest on Cleveland’s News 5 and with Mike Trivisono on WTAM 1100 discussing Real Estate and Real Estate Auctions.
Mr. Dutton’s clients have included many Corporate, Judicial, Banking and Private industry sellers including Courts and jurisdictions thru-out Northeast Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and the US Marshalls Office. Mr. Dutton is a former councilman, serving for 8 years and spearheaded efforts to complete the Ohio Erie Towpath Trail thru his hometown of Navarre, Ohio. This process included writing and obtaining $500,000 in grants from the Federal Government for this purpose. The building and opening of the trail thru Navarre, Ohio completed the trail traveling from Cleveland, Ohio south from Cuyahoga National Parks thru Summit and Stark Counties to Tuscarawas County.
Mr. Dutton’s hobbies include spending time with his family on his farm which includes raising Registered Quarter Horses and he enjoys Thourobred Racing. He also enjoys playing golf with his 3 sons.
